The Deadwood Gaming Commission released numbers following the first year of legal sports betting at licensed casinos in the historic city. According to the numbers, gamblers spent $6.6 million on in-person sports wagering its first 12 months. The month of March saw the most money gambled at $975,347.25. This is more than likely due to the NCAA men’s basketball National Championship tournament or March Madness. Voters passed a Constitutional Amendment in 2020 to allow Deadwood to offer sports betting.
