Legislative committee assignments announced

The South Dakota state house and senate have released committee assignments for the upcoming 2025 Legislative session.

On the senate side District 1 state senator Michael Rohl has been assigned to Agriculture, Local Government and the Rules Review Committee where he will serve as co-chair. District 3 senator Carl Perry has been assigned to Commerce and Energy, Health and Human Services, Legislative Procedures and he will vice-chair state affairs. District 23’s Mark Lapka will serve on Government Operations and Audit, Joint Appropriations and Vice Chair Appropriations.

On the House side District 1’s Logan Manhart will serve on Education and Health and Human Services. Chris Reder has been assigned to Military and Veteran’s Affairs, Taxation and Transportation. Distrcit 3’s Brandei Schaefbauer has been assigned to Health and Human Services and State Affairs. Al Novstrop has been assigned to Appropriations, and Joint Appropriations.

Districit 23’s Spencer Gosch has been named to State Affairs and will vice chair Ag and Natural Resources. Scott Moore has been assigned to Appropriations and will vice chair Government Operations and Audit.
