The Brown County Commission Tuesday, at its weekly meeting discussed the 2019 budget and realized major cuts will be needed to make things work.  According to County Auditor Maxine Fischer, Commissioners currently will need to cut $2 million from budget requests.  Stagnant revenues and the unpredictable cost of crime were cited as two main reasons for the necessary cuts.  A preliminary budget hearing is scheduled for September 4th and the county will advertise budget discussions to the public before making decisions.
