A Maryland man has been sentenced in South Dakota for his part in an Identity theft scheme. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office 38-year-old Victor Sasay took part in a scam using credit cards owned by people in the Midwest to acquire gift cards from multiple stores in the region. EH pleaded guilty in March to aiding and abetting aggravated identity theft. Included in this scheme were two other co-conspirators. The scheme cost banks and credit unions an estimated $60,000.
