Authorities apprehended a suspect after a morning shootout that turned into a standoff at a home in Box Elder.
The incident began around 9:30 when Box Elder Police were on a call in a neighborhood off of South Ellsworth Drive.

Harrison says the subject fled, and for a short period of time, took two people hostage in the backyard of a Box Elder home…
Harrison says assistance came in to help find the suspect, and he was located in a home on Freude (fried) Drive. After negotiations with authorities, the suspect was apprehended with no further shots being fired.
Harrison says authorities did a great job today – saving a small girl from the situation…
Harrison identified the suspect as 31-year-old Justin Grant Latrelle. He is facing numerous charges, including attempted murder, attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault.
