One person died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle-vehicle crash that occurred near Hill City.
The name of the deceased, along with the names of two others involved, are not being released by state officials pending notification of family members.
A 2003 Kawasaki L Cruiser motorcycle was southbound on U.S. Highway 385 when the male driver lost control as the vehicle went into the northbound lane. A northbound 2015 Chevrolet Equinox ran over the motorcycle and driver.
The 57-year-old motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
Both the male driver and female passenger of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. The two occupants, each 75 years old, were wearing seatbelts.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
