The United States Senate is scheduled to begin hearings this week in regards to President Donald Trump’s pick to be the next Supreme Court Justice. Today, Brett Kavanaugh will make opening statements in the hearing and questioning from Senators will begin Wednesday. A Vote in the committee to send his nomination to the full senate for confirmation could happen as quickly as late September. Kavanaugh has been selected to replace the retired justice Anthony Kennedy. Democrats have criticized this process as access to Kavanaugh documents during his time working in the George W. Bush administration, approximately 129,000 documents, are being withheld by the white house for different reasons.
