Gov. Noem signs permitless carry legislation

Governor Kristi Noem stuck pen to paper Thursday in signing the first of many new laws during her term as Governor Thursday.  Noem also made good on a campaign promise by signing into law during a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda Senate Bill 47, which allows for the permitless carry of firearms in South Dakota…

Noem says the legislation will give South Dakotans options…

Noem says South Dakota’s permitting system remains intact…

Noem signed the bill into law at a large desk that was moved from the Governor’s office Reception Room to the base of the Grand Staircase as legislative supporters gathered in the background.  Just because the Governor signed the bill doesn’t mean you can conceal carry anywhere quite yet.  The law goes into effect on July 1st.
