Authorities in Codington county say a rural Watertown man died Thursday after leaving his stuck vehicle during a blizzard. The Codington County sheirff’s department received a call around 6:00 p.m. Thursday with reports of a man who was having trouble breathing after walking in 40 below zero temperatures and blowing snow. Authorities responded to 172nd Street and 445th avenue west and found an individual trying to revive the victim, 46-year-old Joseph Persall, with CPR. A path had to be plowed to the victim so the ambulance could reach him. Crews got him to the Prairie Lakes Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
