Physical school planned on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem along with representatives from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation have announced jointly plans to build the first physical local public high school on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation as well as the first career and technical education high school on a South Dakota Indian Reservation.  According to a release, the Oglala Lakota County School district serves 22 communities within 2,000 square miles and does not have a physical high school, operating from virtual locations that can serve 50 to 250 students at a time.  Gov. Noem says this project will bolster the area’s workforce and empower students to succeed post graduation.
