Two South Dakota activist groups have received the required amount of signatures to get medical and recreational marijuana on the ballot for the 2020 election.  New Approach South Dakota turned in 30,000 signatures to create a medical marijuana program for patients with serious health conditions, while South Dakotans for Better Marijuana Laws submitted over 50,000 signatures to legalize marijuana for adults 21 and older and require the state Legislature to enact a hemp cultivation law.  The Secretary of State will now begin the process of certifying signatures.
