The South Dakota Department of Health Announced Thursday 126 new cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota. According to the Department the spike likely comes from a mass-testing event for Smithfield Food employees where around 2,500 workers and family members were tested Monday and Tuesday. Hospitalizations decreased to 70. Two more deaths were confirmed as well bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the Pandemic to 31. Brown County saw an additional 17 new cases of COVID-19. That brings the total number of cases in Brown County to 93 with 34 recoveries. Brown County has the third most cases in the state behind Minnehaha and Lincoln county.
