The Aberdeen Parks and Recreation board will hold a special meeting this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. In the Eagles Nest at the Ark.
The only item on the agenda will be discussing whether or not Parks and Rec will open and operate the Aberdeen Aquatic Center this summer. The issue was discussed at length at Monday night's Aberdeen City Council meeting with Parks superintendent Mark Hoven in attendance.
While everyone on the call Monday seemed to be in agreement it is ideal to open the pool, doing so without requiring it to operate at half capacity would not allow for proper social distancing. And operating at half capacity may not make financial sense.
