Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has announced he has increased the charges facing former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and charged the three other former officers involved in the death of George Floyd.

 

Ellison made the announcement at a press conference Wednesday in Minneapolis.  He thanked the public for their patients in this matter as it has been 10 days since Floyd's murder...

 

 

 

 

An attorney for Floyd’s family, Ben Crump has confirmed to media outlets the three other officers involved have been arrested. Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng all face aiding and abetting second-degree murder.  Chauvin now faces second degree murder charges, up from third degree manslaughter and third degree murder. 

 

Ellison says the evidence justifies the harsher charges.  Originally the three other former officers were not charged and Chauvin was facing third degree murder and third degree manslaughter...

 

 

 

Ellison closed his remarks asking for more patients from the public.  According to him, the investigation into Floyd's death remains ongoing...
