South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem visited Aberdeen Wednesday and spoke to the public about a new fund set up to help cities and county governments offset costs associated with COVID-19.  The money comes from the federal government and is part of the CARES act passed by congress in March.

Governor Noem has been working with the treasury department at the federal level who is handling this money.  Her desire is to allow local governments to use this money to help offset tax revenue losses due to COVID-19.  So far, treasury has not allowed that to happen.  She talked more about the situation…
