A wildfire is currently burning at Custer State Park in the Black Hills. First reported at 11:19 a.m. on Wednesday, according to South Dakota governor Kristi Noem’s office as of 8:00 p.m. the fire is estimated to cover 150 acres. South Dakota Wildand Fire is leading a multi-state, multi-agency effort to battle the flames. The fire is believed to have started near the park shop near Highway 16 and was moving towards the northwest. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
