COVID-19 has affected almost every aspect of our lives across the globe, including experiencing shortages in toilet paper, hand sanitizer, cleaning products, meat products and now coins. According to the United States Federal Reserve, the coronavirus is causing a coin shortage, due to a number of factors. First, with businesses closed for a time the flow of coins stopped with it, also the US Mint production of coins has decreased due to the virus as well. To address this issue, the federal reserve has created a US Coin task force to address the problem. The committee plans on releasing its first recommendations for action by the end of July.
