South Dakota state senate majority leader and District 25 Senator Kris Langer has announced she is dropping her re-election bid. Langer, along with district 2 senator Brock Greenfield admitted to being drunk on the floor of the senate the final day of this past legislative session in March. The two had received a formal rebuke from fellow senators following an investigation into the matter. Langer says she looks forward to spending more time with family now that she will not be returning to Pierre. Two independents are currently vying for her seat.
