Daktronics, a major Brookings-based technology company has announced it will be cutting more than 100 employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Daktronics is known both regionally and nationally for its scoreboards seen in gymnasiums small and large. The cuts went into effect last week and according to a statement from Daktronics, represent less than four percent of the company’s workforce. The cuts are not concentrated in Brookings, but rather will occur across the United States and Canada. This is the second major reduction in workforce Daktronics has announced in 2020, with 100 more employees being cut in May.
