The Groton School board voted Monday to change its mask policy for indoor school activities.  Originally, the board voted to mandate mask usage for indoor school activities.  Now mask  usage is no longer mandatory but strongly recommended.  The goal of the policy is to help deter the spread of COVID-19.  Groton superintendent John Schwan tells the Aberdeen American News, difficulty enforcing compliance with the mandate, along with public concern brought the school board around to reviewing the policy.
