Longtime “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek passed away Sunday at the age of 80 years old. Trebek announced to the world in 2019 he had been diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer and had been battling that illness since. In a statement released by his family, Trebek passed away in his Los Angeles home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Sudbury Ontario Canada, Trebek had been in the television business since 1961 and hosted the daily quiz show “Jeopardy!” for 36 years. He was known for his calm, dapper demeanor and his friendliness with contestants and fans.
