Minnesota man charged for taking Golden Eagle in Roberts county

A Minnesota man has been charged with illegally taking a golden eagle in Roberts County.  According to the US Attorney for South Dakota’s office, 68-year-old Richard M. Grohs of Wheaton Minnesota has pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces and was released on bond pending trial.  Authorities say the incident occurred in 2018.  If found guilty Grohs faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
