The largest organization representing doctors across South Dakota has come out in favor of a statewide mask mandate. The South Dakota Medical Association updated its stance to “strongly support” a statewide mandate as it continues to encourage residents to wear them while in public voluntarily. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem at a press conference Wednesday reiterated her stance she does not support a statewide mandate, calling it a “feel good measure.” South Dakota is the second worst state in the nation when it comes to infection rate, worst state in seven-day positivity rate at 60 percent, and 644 people have died as of Wednesday.
