District 32 state senator Helen Duhamel of Rapid City has tested positive for COVID-19. The positive test came after she visited Pierre to attend Governor Kristi Noem’s budget address. According to reports Duhamel was asymptomatic through most of the day, before starting to show symptoms. Upon returning to Rapid City she underwent a COVID test and was positive. According to KOTA her symptoms included a quote “searing headache and nausea.” Duhmael did interact with many lawmakers and took part in an event at the Governor’s mansion the night before the budget address.
