South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has said through her spokesperson she will get the vaccine, but it won’t likely be until 2021.  According to the governor she will take it when it is quote “readily available after those who need it most have been given an opportunity to take it.”  South Dakota received 7,800 initial doses of the Pfizer vaccine and is expected to get another shipment of the Moderna vaccine from the manufacturer once it is approved.  According to the COVID tracking project, South Dakota led the nation two weeks ago for new cases per capita, but has since dropped to sixth in the nation.
