Following Tuesday night in Georgia, most results are in for the two US senate elections that took place. These two races hold the balance of power in the US Senate for the upcoming session. Democrat challenger Raphael Warnock defeated Republican incumbent Kelly Loeffler by a slim 50.6 to 49.4 margin. Meanwhile Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff currently leads Republican incumbent David Perdue 50.2 to 49.8 with 98 percent of the vote counted. Though the networks have not called that race quite yet, most election forecasters agree there are not enough votes left for Perdue to catch Osoff, making it likely Ossoff will win. If that holds Democrats will flip the senate for at least the first two years of the new Biden presidency.
