The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has released numbers showing highway fatalities in 2020 are up in South Dakota.  However, that is up from a new record low in 2019.  126 fatality related crashes were reported on South Dakota roadways, killing 135 people.  In 2019 there was a record low 88 fatal crashes that claimed 102 lives.  The numbers are preliminary and subject to change.
