South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem signed an executive order Friday which stated she directed the filing of a lawsuit against Amendment A, an amendment to the South Dakota Constitution which legalizes recreational marijuana for adults. Defendants in the Amendment A case have argued, those who brought the case, Pennington county sheriff Kevin Thom and Highway Patrol Col. Rick Miller do not have standing to bring a lawsuit. This order signed by Noem claims to give those bringing the suit standing and shows her support for such a challenge to an amendment passed by 54.18 percent of voters in November.
