According to Bloomberg’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker South Dakota is one of the top states in the nation when it comes to COVID-19 vaccine distribution. According to the numbers, South Dakota has distributed 93,675 COVID-19 vaccine doses. That comes out to 6.5 percent of the population being vaccinated so far, with the state using 64.9 percent of vaccines dolled out. Only ahead of South Dakota is Alaska and West Virginia that sits in the top spot at 7.5 percent vaccinated. The US as a country is far behind its projections however. Operation Warp Speed hoped to have 20 million doses administered to Americans by the end of December. According to the numbers, only about 9 million people have received vaccinations as of early last week.
