After years of starts and stops the sponors of the Keystone XL pipeline has announced it is pulling the plug on the project. Calgary based TC Energy released a statement on the decision to end the project Wednesday, saying it "will work with government agenices to ensure a safe termination of and exit from the partially built line." The project would have transported tar sans crude oil from Alberta to the gulf of Mexico, crossing a large part of South Dakota in the process. Construction was slow under President Obama, began again under President Donald Trump and was again stalled with the election of President Joe Biden.
