Rapid City teen killed in shooting

(KBHB - Sturgis, SD) Rapid City Police report schools in the north part of Rapid City were placed on secure status following the shooting of a juvenile in the area.


According to RCPD Support Services Captain Scott Sitts, around 9:30 a.m. Friday Morning, police were called to a residence near the intersection of North Maple Avenue and Surfwood Drive in response to a report that a juvenile female had been shot.


Upon arrival, police located the juvenile.


The juvenile was transported to Monument Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.


Authorities have identified the suspect in the case as 19year-old Nathaniel Grey Eagle of Rapid City. Police consider him armed and dangerous and the public should not approach him. 


Sitts emphasized that the area has seen a high number of shootings and gun-related incidents…







Sitts says they are in the early stages of the investigation and they are not sure what led to the shooting.
