South Dakota state House Majority Leader Kent Peterson is calling for a special session of the legislature to consider articles of impeachment against Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg. The House did draw up articles against Ravnsborg last session, but pulled back on acting on them to let the legal process play out. In August, Ravnsborg pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors from the night he killed 55-year-old Joe Beover of Highmore. Peterson, a Republican from District 19, is calling on the session to begin on November 9th. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem along with three of the state’s law enforcement organizations have all called on Ravnsborg to resign over the incident.
