he Northern State University men's and women's basketball teams released their 2018-19 schedules today. The Wolves men will open the season on October 23 at home versus Waldorf, while the women will open on the road at the Central Region Challenge versus Pitt State on November 9 and Arkansas Tech on November 10. 
The men then hit the road for the Hall of Fame Classic and East-West Classic. They will face off against Northwest Missouri State and Queens (NC) from St. Joseph, Missouri, and Black Hills State and South Dakota School of Mines from the Sanford Pentagon and Sioux Falls. As released earlier this month, the Wolves are set to host the Dacotah Bank Thanksgiving Classic on November 23 and 24. NSU will tip-off with Truman State on Friday and Chadron State on Saturday.
The women will face off against Presentation in their home opener on November 15, before heading to Emporia State for their thanksgiving tournament, with games against the host and East Central Oklahoma. The Wolves final non-conference game is set for December 30 from Wachs Arena versus Metro State.
Both teams will open the NSIC slate at home on December 1 against MSU Moorhead, and then travel to Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston the following weekend. Northern will finish off 2018 at home versus Minot State and U-Mary on the 14th and 15th and on the road at MSU Moorhead on the 19.
The Wolves open the new year at Upper Iowa and Winona State on January 4 and 5, before a 4-game home stand against Minnesota Crookston, Bemidji State, Augustana, and Wayne State through the middle portion of the month. NSU then travels to St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth on the 25th and 26th of the month.
February opens with a pair of road games at Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State on the 1stand 2nd. The Wolves will then open a 4-game home stand against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State for the annual I Hate Winter weekend on the 8th and 9th. Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State come to town on the 15th and 16th for the final regular season home games of the year. Northern will finish the season at Minot State and U-Mary on February 22 and 23, with the first round of the NSIC Tournament set for February 27. The NSIC Tournament first round will be hosted by the top seeded institution.
