A former South Dakota prep volleyball star is returning to South Dakota to continue her collegiate volleyball career. Former Harrisburg standout Sami Slaughter will transfer to the University of South Dakota, according to Coyotes head coach Leanne Williamson. Slaughter has two years of eligibility remaining and is returning to South Dakota after spending two seasons at the University of Nebraska. She appeared in 10 matches for the Huskers this past season and helped Nebraska win a national championship in 2017. Slaughter was named the volleyball Gatorade player of the year in 2016.
