12-year NHL veteran and former University of North Dakota hockey great Greg Johnson has passed away at the age of 48.  Johnson died Monday according to the Chronicle Journal in Thunder Bay Ontario, his hometown, but no cause of death was given.  Johnson was a three time Hobey Baker award finalist and remains North Dakota’s all time leading scorer with 272 points, 74 goals and 198 assists, in 155 games with the then Fighting Sioux.  He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round of the 1989 NHL draft.
