MLB announces 60 game schedule

Major League baseball released its planned 60-game shortened regular season schedule as the league tries to begin play amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.  The season will open for four teams July 23rd featuring the defending World Series champions Washington Nationals hosting the New York Yankees  and the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the San Francisco Giants.  The remaining 26 teams will open the season July 24th.  The Minnesota Twins will be on the road to take on the Chicago White Sox opening weekend.  The Twins schedule will feature 40 games against divisional opponents and 20 games against National League Central opponents.  The Twins first home series will be July 28th vs. The St. Louis Cardinals.
