Minnesota Vikings nose tackle Michael Pierce has informed the team he will not take part in the 2020 season due to concerns involving respiratory issues. Pierce tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press he is a high risk case for COVID-19 due to underlying health conditions. Pierce signed with the Vikings this offseason on a three-year $27 million contract to replace Linval Joseph who left via free agency. According to NFL rules, Pierce is entitled to receive $350,000 for his contract toll next season. In other football player news Chicago Bears defensive lineman Eddie Goldman will opt out of the 2020 season as well due to health concerns due to COVID 19. Also opting out are New England Patriots linebacker and safety Don’t’a Hightower and safety Patrick Chung.
