The University of Minnesota has announced it has canceled this weekend’s rivalry game against the University of Wisconsin. The cancelation is due to several positive COVID-19 tests inside the Minnesota football program. The game will not be rescheduled and per Big Ten rules this year it will go down as a no contest. This is the third game Wisconsin will not play this year due to cancelations. The cancellation also alters history as it ends the longest uninterrupted series in FBS history, with Minnesota and Wisconsin playing one another every year for 113 years from 1907 to 2019. The two teams play for the Paul Bunyan Ax which is a traveling trophy, Wisconsin leads the overall series 61-60-8.
