Longtime college men’s basketball coach Bob Knight passed away Wednesday at the age of 83. According to a statement from the Knight family, he had been hospitalized with an illness in April and had been in poor health for several years. Bob Knight coached 42 seasons, accumulating 902 victories, putting him amongst some of the winningest coaches in college basketball history. He coached at Army, Indiana and Texas Tech, and also coached the US Olympic team to a gold medal in 1984. He was also known for his fiery temper which ultimately got him fired from Indiana.
