Minnesota farmer welcomes needed moisture

A farmer in south-central Minnesota recently welcomed much needed rain.

Dennis Schmidt of New Ulm says June was very dry and his corn was suffering.

“You could really already see gravely pockets (and) sandy pockets where the corn was firing extremely bad.”

He tells Brownfield that was before three inches of rain fell Thursday night.

“So my feeling is we’ve got an awfully good potential for this corn crop yet.
