Minnesota Golden Gopher men’s hockey returns to the NCAA ice hockey National Championship game

The University of Minnesota men’s hockey team defeated Boston University last night in Tampa Florida to punch their ticket to the NCAA men’s hockey national championship game. The final was 6-2. Scoring for Minnesota included Mike Koster, Rhett Pitlick, Luke Mittelstadt with two goals and Logan Cooley with two goals. With the win, Minnesota heads to their first National Championship game since 2014, seek their sixth national championship overall and first national championship since 2003. They will take on Quinnipiac Saturday. Quinnipiac defeated Michigan last night 5-2 to make the program’s third national championship game. Puck drop will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday for the national championship. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
