Minnesota Vikings ready for first playoff game under first-year head coach Kevin O’Connell

The Minnesota Vikings have begun preparing for the first round playoff game against the New York Giants this coming weekend. The Vikings finished the regular season with a record of 13-3, a week #17 victory over the Chicago Bears and an NFC North championship.

The Vikings defeated the New York Giants week #16 on Saturday January 24th 27-24. The game ended on a game winning 61-yard field goal by kicker Greg Joseph.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell says the victory over New York is fresh in the team’s mind. With that coach O’Connell feels the defense will need to improve this time…

O’Connell says its important to revisit the team’s performance this entire season, not just that last Giants game…

O’Connell says the team’s goal at the beginning of the season was to make the playoffs and win the NFC north. Now that those goals have been accomplished, focus shifts…
