Minnesota Wild sign Hunter Haight to a three-year entry-level contract

Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed center Hunter Haight to a three-year, entry-level contract starting with the 2023-24 season.

Haight, 18 (4/4/04), has recorded 45 points (17-28=45), eight power-play goals (PPG) and 164 shots on goal (SOG) in 53 total games in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season, spending time with both the Saginaw Spirit and Barrie Colts. After posting nine points (3-6=9), two PPG and 37 shots on goal (SOG) in 20 games with Barrie to start the season, Haight was traded to Saginaw on Dec. 1, 2022, and has posted 36 points (14-22=36) in 33 games with the Spirit. He currently leads Saginaw with 127 SOG and is tied for second with six PPG this season.

The 5-foot-10, 173-pound native of Strathroy, Ontario, owns 86 points (39-47=86), 11 PPG and 23 penalty minutes in 116 career games over two OHL seasons (2021-23). Haight also participated in Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Summer Camp in July of 2022.

The Wild selected Haight in the second round (47th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
