Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach dies of a heart attack

Mississippi State head football coach Mike Leach died Tuesday at the age of 61. According to reports Leach was hospitalized on December 11th after experiencing what has been described as a serious health issue. Further reporting alleged Leach suffered from a massive heart attack and seizures. According to a statement released by Mississippi State on the day of this death, Leach died due to complications with a heart condition. Leach’s coaching career started in 1987 as an assistant and continued until his death. He served as the head coach at Texas Tech, Washington State and most recently Mississippi State. He had an overall record of 158-107, a Pac-12 North Division titile in 2018, a Big 12 South Division title in 2008 and was 8-9 in Bowl Games.
