Mitchell man arrested for killing a dog

A Mitchell man is facing charges following alleged allegations he duct tapped a dog’s mouth shut and beating it to death. Authorities responded to calls on July 30th about a man punching a black lab in the head several times with a closed fist. Officers immediately detained the suspect 25-year-old Aaron Hacecky, only to discover later the dog in question had its arms and legs bound and face duct tape shut. Officers freed the dog and noticed it bleeding from its nose. The dog was rushed to a veterinarian where it was pronounced dead. Hacecky faces three charges of cruelty to animals which is a class six felony carrying a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
