Name released in Brown county fatal accident Friday June 23

A Long Lake, S.D. man has been identified as the person who died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash south of Frederick, S.D.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2008 Ford F250 pickup driven by Chad Muckey of Ellendale, N.D. was traveling south on U.S. Highway 281. A 2015 Buick Lacrosse driven by Willard Goeshel of Long Lake, S.D. was northbound on U.S. Highway 281. As the Buick Lacrosse attempted to make a left turn onto S.D. Goeshel, 85, died from injuries he sustained in the crash.

Muckey, 40, suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
