The National Weather Service has released its spring flood outlook for rivers and streams in northeast South Dakota, portions of central South Dakota and portions of west central Minnesota. According to the National Weather Service the chances of minor, moderate or major flooding are generally below normal. That is mainly due to ongoing drought conditions, despite a large snow pack across most of the area. The Big Sioux River in Codington and Hamlin counties is the only area where minimal flooding chances are above normal.
