NBA Hall of Fame center Dikembe Mutombo has passed away at the age of 58. According to the NBA, Mutombo died after a long battle with brain cancer. Mutombo stood 7’2 inches and played 18 NBA seasons with the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, then New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets. He retired after the 2008-09 season. He was named the league’s top defensive player four times and was named an NBA all-star eight times. He was inducted into the NBA hall of fame in 2015 and his #55 jersey has been retired by both the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks. He was known for his finger wagging taunt after a successful defensive play.
