Nebraska volleyball sets world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event

The University of Nebraska set a new world record Wednesday night when it played women’s volleyball in front of an announced crowed of 92,003 outdoors at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The Huskers defeated Nebraska-Omaha three sets to none. With the announced crowed, the event becomes the most attended women’s sporting event in the world, surpassing 91,648 people who attended a soccer match in April of 2022 featuring FC Barcelona vs. Wolfsburg.
