The NFL owners meet during a special session Thursday to unanimously approve the sale of the Washington Commanders from Dan Snyder and family to a group led by Josh Harris. The sale of the team is for $6.05 billion, a record sum for a North American sports franchise. Snyder has owned the Commanders since 1999 and he and his family became sole owners after he bought out the remaining limited partners two years ago. Snyder has been the subject of multiple investigations over the past three years causing much controversy remaining in charge of an NFL franchise. In fact, on his way out, the league fined Snyder $60 million after an independent investigation concluded he sexually harassed a team employee and that the team withheld revenue from the NFL.
